Job Description

Resilient Recruitment are recruiting, on behalf of our client in the food industry, for a Distribution Team Leader in their Manchester factory. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the distribution function and fleet to ensure the safe handling, distribution and delivery of bulk and bagged goods to our customers, in accordance with all legal and company requirements.

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000

Hours: Average 42 hours per week - 4 on 4 off shift pattern (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am)

Holidays: 24 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Manage and control the day to day movement of fleet
  • Control and monitor sub-contractor usage and cost
  • Liaise with management to do shift handovers
  • Maintain and improve health, safety, environmental and food safety standards, supporting the local HSE team
  • Plan fleet maintenance, testing and hygiene events
  • Tachograph management
  • Assist with HR procedures for your team
  • Collate KPI information for Logistics Manager
  • Deputise for Logistics Manager in their absence

To do this role you will need to:

 

  • A great customer focus with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Self motivated & initiative to work alone
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Demonstrate experience of leading a team in a similar role
  • Previous experience in comparable FMCG role
  • PC literate, including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word; capable of using Distribution Management Systems
